In February 2002, in a police cell near Vancouver, Robert Pickton told a man he believed was another prisoner that he had wanted one more, to make it an even fifty. The man was an undercover officer.
Investigators found remains or DNA linked to 33 women on Pickton's pig farm in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. Five years earlier he had been charged with trying to kill a woman on that farm, and the charges were stayed in January 1998. Vancouver police received a tip naming him in July 1998. In January 2000 he agreed to let two RCMP constables search the farm, and the search never happened.
This film follows the case from the search for illegal guns in February 2002 to the eleven hours of questioning that followed, the trial in New Westminster, where a jury convicted him of six counts of second degree murder in December 2007, and his death in prison in 2024, at 74.
