Welfare Spending: 'Work Simply Isn't Attractive Enough' | Fraser Nelson

“Work simply isn't attractive enough in relation to welfare, and of course, you can improve that by increasing the work incentives or payments or by decreasing the welfare payments, both of those are difficult to do.” Conventional government approaches to youth unemployment and economic inactivity continue to fail, “if you increase skills that will help” but it is unlikely to “get to the real problem”, says Times columnist Fraser Nelson. Fraser Nelson was speaking to Kate McCann and Stig Abell on Times Radio Breakfast. Listen live every Monday-Thursday from 6-10am.
