ZNOJMO, PART 1, CZECH REPUBLIC. 2022 01 LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE Znojmo is a town in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 34,000 inhabitants. The town is located on the Thaya River, along the eastern edge of Podyjí National Park. Znojmo is the historical and cultural centre of southwestern Moravia and the second most populated town in the South Moravian Region. The town of Znojmo and its surroundings are known for gherkin production and for winemaking. Znojmo was founded shortly before 1226, but the Znojmo Castle is older. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected as an urban monument reservation. The most important monuments, protected as national cultural monuments, are Rotunda of Saint Catherine, Louka Monastery and Town Hall Tower.
