DON'T PAINT YOUR CONTAINER before watching this

I tested Henry 817 Roof Guard on a steel shipping container in 85º Arizona desert. UV protection, waterproof, reflective — but does it actually hold up? I put this "urethane-enhanced" white coating to work to see if it really drops interior temps and stops ponding water. This is not sponsored — I bought the bucket myself at Home Depot. WHAT IT CLAIMS (from Henry): • Premium acrylic-polyurethane hybrid for better weather protection, solar reflectivity, and longevity vs standard acrylics • 100% waterproof, permanent ponding water resistant • Dirt Pick-Up Resistance (DPR) technology for longest lasting reflectivity • Lowers roof and interior temperatures, 25-year limited warranty with one application • Coverage approx 100 sq ft per gallon per coat IN THIS VIDEO: 0:00 Intro 1:25 Setting up camp 2:22 Dealing with slide issues 7:18 Prep: washing container 11:08 Rest & talk 13:03 Painting day 21:27 The results 24:01 outro MY SETUP: • Surface: 40ft steel shipping container, marine painted metal with heavy rust spots • Product: Henry 817 Roof Guard, 4.75 gal white • Tools: 3/4" nap roller, wire wheel on angle grinder, mop & water • Location: White Mountains, Navaho county — applied early June. RESULTS: • Day 1 temp drop: 40°F on interior/exterior roof 10º cooler inside container, after paint, on the hottest day. 3º warmer • Any peeling/blistering: None so far WHERE I GOT IT: I couldn't find a Home Depot that carries it in stock. They do carry the tropicool silicone version, however Roof Guard 817 in 0.9 gal and 4.75 gal must be ordered. A: Henry lists metal, concrete, EPDM, TPO, PVC and more. Always check the data sheet for your roof type. however, I personally would not apply 817 acrylic Roof Guard on a RV roof that travels.
