AP Odisha Border Row | Tribals Protest In Kotia | Odisha | Gummadi Sandhya Rani Warns Odisha Cops

Tensions flared along the Andhra Pradesh–Odisha border as tribal residents in the disputed Kotia region staged massive protests against Odisha officials and police forces. Local tribals blocked the Koraput Sub-Collector and representatives of three political parties, demanding the immediate withdrawal of both Odisha and AP police forces from their villages. Displaying their AP Aadhaar, Ration, Voter ID cards, and bank passbooks on the roads, the villagers demanded to remain part of Andhra Pradesh, citing benefits from state welfare schemes such as Thalliki Vandanam, Rythu Bharosa, and monthly pensions. Reacting strongly to the incident, AP Tribal Welfare Minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani heavily criticized the Odisha administration for violating Supreme Court status-quo orders, hindering AP welfare delivery, and allegedly intimidating local tribals.
