Playing samba percussion: This is how you learn to swing.

Samba has a distinctive swing or lilt to the placement of individual notes within the groove. This can be described in endless abstract terms, OR, you can just do the exercise and start your journey to sounding more Brazilian in your playing. Sing and play at the same time! * Alex Talbot is Mestre de Bateria of Império da Rainha in London and has been teaching samba percussion for 15 years.
