MythBusters — S13 E3 "The A-Team Special" — Aired January 24, 2015
The A-Team built weapons, vehicles, and escape devices out of whatever happened to be lying around, and Adam and Jamie decided to find out whether that kind of improvised engineering actually holds up — first raiding a barn for propane tanks, lumber, pipes, and whatever metal they could scavenge to build a working cannon capable of firing wooden planks at a target, finding that the propane-powered design worked better and hit harder than either of them expected from a weapon assembled entirely from barn junk, and then digging a sewer trench and pumping it full of combustible gas to test whether the A-Team's classic bad-guy-clearing sewer explosion could actually produce enough force to launch people into the air without causing the kind of lethal internal injuries that a real underground gas detonation would generate.

Using science as their weapon and curiosity as their fuel, Hollywood special effects experts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman spent 14 seasons and 296 episodes testing the world's most popular myths, urban legends, and movie moments. From the Diet Coke & Mentos explosion to surviving an underwater car escape — if it can be tested, they'll test it.
