How I Draw a Portrait Looking Back Over Her Shoulder (Loomis Method)

How to draw a portrait of a head turned away from you with the Loomis method, from the first circle to a finished realistic pencil portrait. The angle that breaks most portraits, built with one cut in the skull. Full Loomis course, every angle, in order: onepencildrawing.com/over-shoulder This angle is the one I get asked about most. She's turned away from the camera and looking back, so half the head is hidden and most people end up guessing where the face goes. Instead of guessing, I build it from a circle, one cut on the side of the skull, and the lines that come off that cut. The center line that leans with her, the three sections of the face, the ear that never moves. I draw the whole thing with one pencil, construction first, then the features, then the hair and the fur coat, and I stop at every step to say why the line goes there and not somewhere else. Draw this same reference and post it on the Community tab. I'm picking drawings from there for a mistake-fix video.
