When Temptation Comes: Let God's Word Guard Your Heart | Prayer & Devotion In His Presence Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:11 (KJV) God still speaks to us today. “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” — Psalm 119:11 (KJV) The psalmist did not merely hear and remember God's Word. He treasured it deep within his heart. His reason was clear. He wanted to turn away from sin and live according to God's will. Every day, countless thoughts and emotions enter our hearts. At times, we are shaken by the circumstances before us, and our emotions lead us to make choices contrary to God's will. Yet God's Word, treasured in our hearts, calls us to reflect once again on the path we should choose. Keeping God's Word in our hearts means more than knowing Scripture. It means remembering His Word when we face decisions in life. Today, consider what is filling your heart. Draw closer to God's Word rather than dwelling on worry and fear, and seek His will before following your own thoughts. As we treasure His Word more deeply in our hearts, our thoughts and choices will increasingly turn toward His will. May you keep God's Word deep within your heart today, and may you live a life of obedience that pleases Him, even in the smallest decisions. May your day be blessed as you walk in His Word.
