Potentially went for Perfection. (Thumbnail by 1121something MS1121 Something 1 1 2 1 )
i am finally free from this mode. Genuinely one of if not the most excruciating mode I've ever played. this really challenged my patience as a whole. I would get unbelievably mad at this mode to the point where id rant to myself to just let out my anger and frustration. This mode tortured me so hard as its a mode that punishes you for going too fast to the point where making a mistake (misshocking) results in instant death. I kid you not I don't think this mode is THAT far off from oblivion in difficulty in fact id argue pc is at least 3am diff in oblivion. This is probably bias since pc realllly challenges my nerve control, which I believe is my worst skillset, and would explain why the parts i die to are due to nerves and not the keyboard as much.
Now as for the complaints; this mode really ticks me off for the fact how it handles misshocks and just mistakes from going too quickly. Countless times ill be on a 5am run and the visuals will get to a point where its really hard to see where to shock (This probably isn't as bad once you get past the nerve barrier) and i would misshock or misclick resulting in my death. Another thing is how Mult works and how it scales with power usage. The earlier hours are a lot harder to greenrun for this reason as its more reliant on timings instead of keyboard chaos which is what higher mult will give you. The thing is that the difference isn't all that huge as you will most likely get thrown really hard keyboard combos anywhere in the mode where the only way to survive is to use up a lot of power or to play REALLY well with your inputs. This in reality would sound like just a skill issue which it is but for a mode that punishes you from going too fast and making a mistake, I have to limit myself to a certain speed where i don't make that mistake which results in my death for when i get a really nasty combo.
On top of all of this, I am 100% sure that I am unluckiest victor which is why I did not have a good time with this mode at all. I had really high hopes going into this mode as right off the bat there were a lot of tiny details that I noticed that really made me appreciate the mode much more than I already expected I would. When I really began grinding it and hit that brick wall around 4-5am... everything changed. I could not control my nerves for the life of me and it led me to getting 10+ 5:50 runs and even more 5ams. When I got my first 5:59 it left me so heartbroken, and when the next one came along... I couldn't even react. a part of how unlucky I was on this mode is the reason why I didn't react as much. Now did I feel relieved? YES. this has been one of my biggest burdens I ever had with a game by a longshot. I had and still have so many plans for what I want to do next and to finally have this done was one of the best feelings I ever had with a game at the same time. I do think I would've reacted harder if I hadn't got so unlucky (my first 5:59 was my craziest reaction) but then again I don't think it would've been nearly as rewarding like I said.
i was really mean to this mode in my video but i just don't have the best patience for modes and this mode really tested mine. But there is so many good things i can mention regarding this mode and why i think people like it as much as they do. I think it really nails the atmosphere in the best way possible which is why I get really nervous at 5am because the hour itself is so fucking cool. I really do like some of the mechanics as well and at times this mode plays REALLY well and is actually fun. I wouldn't play this mode otherwise if it was just NEVER fun (Lafn probably) but when it had its highs, they were HIGH. It really may not seem like it but i do think this mode is really great and I just didn't have a good time with it. The ending I really loved aswell and in a way changed how I think about some of these modes I play making me learn to appreciate them more.
i hope youre reading this asta, you made a great game 🩵💙
