Diff lapping 2 of 3 - Lapping Machine

Second of three videos showing the diff lapping process on our Gleason lapping machine. Here we show the technician lapping a spiral bevel crownwheel and pinion. The grey liquid is lapping paste, which cuts into the gearset and reshapes the teeth. Lapping can improve the performance of a diff and reduce driving noise. Don't know what a diff is?
