Today we read Part 1 of “Śrī Rādhāṣṭamī: The Day of Her Advent,” a remarkable discourse delivered by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda on Śrī Rādhāṣṭamī evening in Śrī Gauḍīya Maṭha, on 19 September 1931. Śrīla Prabhupāda begins by speaking of that person whose name is not openly mentioned in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, yet whose one-pointed service is the cherished aspiration of its true readers: Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. He explains that She is Govinda’s sarvasva — His all in all, His greatest treasure — and that the perfection of loving worship is found only in Her shelter and in the association of Her intimate followers.
