I have tiles, hardwood, and carpet in my place and so far it's been cleaning pretty well and have no problem crossing the boundaries between different flooring. It doesn't come with a remote but it does have hardware button on the body as well as APP support (Mi Home App) through WIFI. The three buttons on the robot are spot clean/clean/recharge. Advance features such as scheduling/ virtual remote control are included in the APP once paired. I really like that the scheduling feature is flexible - I can set everyday/weekend/weekdays or even custom schedule. There is also a very handy feature in APP - carpet boost mode. The robot will automatically sense carpet and turn on stronger suction mode when on carpet.
