Coating Foam For Casting Heavy Metal - Brass and Copper

This video was a test to see if the coating I used would work better for coating foam for casting. The result is that it worked. The process that I normally use in coating foam for casting is just applying household wall plaster to the foam. However, in the past few videos where I used a heavy metal like brass or copper. It didn't work as well as it did when I did aluminum. The heavy metal bled out of the plaster. This made for a ton of time just cleaning up the cast. For this video I put 2 coats of wall plaster onto the foam. A few days later, I mixed in a cup wall plaster and fine sand. I stirred it, and applied it to the coated foam using a brush. After a few days of drying the coating was hard. This hard shell helps the heavy metal to stay contained within it to make it a great cast. I hope you enjoy the video.
