Where do you go? 30 min drive in Hanoi, VN（ENG SUB）

If I had 30 minutes, how far could I get riding a motorbike in Hanoi, Vietnam? I decided to ride from the northwest area of ​​West Lake (Ho Tay), heading south and then east wherever the mood took me. Please note that due to traffic congestion, the actual time spent wasn't exactly 30 minutes. This road runs right next to the Old Quarter. It’s a magnificent tree-lined avenue. The weather is great, and I’m in high spirits. It looks like this turned out to be a bit of a shortcut. But when I emerged onto the main road, I ran straight into the expected traffic jam. What a letdown. As of 2026, Vietnam has two urban railway lines. I hear construction has started on five more. I really hope they get finished soon; even if only a little, they should help alleviate traffic congestion. Alright! Time to break free from this traffic! This is the famous Long Bien Bridge! From here, I’ll cross the mighty Red River to the other side. The sky looks so vast and blue—it has a distinctly autumnal feel to it. The far bank is getting closer. I can see some large twin towers; they appear to be apartment buildings. They must offer amazing views. The ride continues, this time heading toward the eastern part of Hanoi. I’m guessing that back when this was the only bridge spanning the Red River, this road served as a major arterial route. It still retains some of the bustling atmosphere of those days. I turn right onto a relatively new road, cross an overpass, and head toward the southeastern part of Hanoi. Few foreigners realize it, but there’s an airport on the right side of this road. I don't know the details, but it feels like a place where special aircraft—like military planes—operate. Apologies if I’m mistaken. In many parts of Hanoi, the sky feels hemmed in by a forest of high-rise buildings, but around here, you can still feel the openness of the sky. After crossing the overpass, AEON MALL Long Bien comes into view on the left. It was developed by AEON, a major Japanese shopping center chain. They now have locations all over Hanoi. If you keep going straight, you’ll head toward ECOPARK and VINHOMES OCEAN PARK, but you won't get there in 30 minutes. Let’s try turning left here instead. I ended up just before the intersection of Thach Ban Street and National Highway 5. It took longer than 30 minutes due to traffic along the way, but without the congestion, I could have gone further.
