Beauty & the Beast (1982) – Climb the Tower and Rescue Tiny Mabel from Horrible Hank! Intellivision

🏰 Get ready for a challenging rescue mission in *Beauty & the Beast (1982) for the Mattel Intellivision!* Developed and published by Imagic, this colorful platform game takes inspiration from the classic arcade-style climbing adventures of the early 1980s. Your mission is to guide Bashful Buford up a dangerous building, avoid flying obstacles, and rescue Tiny Mabel from the enormous and terrifying Horrible Hank! Released in October 1982, Beauty & the Beast is a single-player platform game designed by Wendell Brown. Combining vertical climbing, quick reflexes, and classic arcade action, it offers an entertaining challenge for fans of vintage video games. 🏰 A Dangerous Climb to Rescue Tiny Mabel The story puts you in control of Bashful Buford, a brave character who must climb a building to save Tiny Mabel from the giant Horrible Hank. However, reaching the top won't be easy! Horrible Hank is determined to stop your rescue attempt by throwing dangerous objects down the building. You must carefully move between platforms, avoid incoming obstacles, and find the safest opportunities to continue climbing. Every step brings you closer to Tiny Mabel, but one wrong move can send your character into danger. Timing, positioning, and quick reactions are essential if you want to complete the rescue. ❤️ Collect Hearts and Avoid Horrible Hank During your climb, Tiny Mabel sends hearts that can give Bashful Buford temporary invincibility. These special moments provide an opportunity to move through dangerous situations without worrying about incoming obstacles. Knowing when to take advantage of this protection can make a big difference. You must balance your climbing progress with the need to avoid Horrible Hank's attacks. The objective is simple: reach the top, rescue Tiny Mabel, and overcome the giant's dangerous defenses. Once the rescue is successful, Horrible Hank meets his final fate by falling from the building! 🎮 Imagic's Answer to Donkey Kong Beauty & the Beast has a concept similar to Nintendo's famous Donkey Kong, with a character climbing a building to rescue someone while avoiding obstacles thrown from above. However, Imagic gives the idea its own visual identity and characters. Instead of simply copying the familiar arcade formula, the game introduces Bashful Buford, Tiny Mabel, and the enormous Horrible Hank in a colorful and entertaining platform adventure. The result is a classic example of the platform games that became popular during the golden age of arcade and home console gaming. 🕹️ Classic Intellivision Gaming The Mattel Intellivision was introduced in 1979 and became famous for its distinctive controllers, colorful graphics, and diverse collection of games.
