A positive start is expected on the local market with ASX futures up 0.4%. European markets continue to be weighed down by fiscal uncertainty in France. On Wall Street strong corporate earnings bolstered investor confidence. The Dow rose 1%, while the S&P 500 was up 0.3% and the Nasdaq finished flat. On the earnings front SpaceX beat estimates, reporting a 161% jump in revenue for the third quarter of US14.6 billion. Netflix beat forecasts, but shares fell in after hours trade on soft forward guidance. Brent crude eased slightly to US$109 a barrel.
