P.S.I Investigate ... St Botolphs Tottenhill Part1 of 2

St Botolph's church is unusual for a parish church in that it physically sits within the area of Wormegay parish. The church has ancient origins with parts of the building's fabric surviving from the Norman period of the 12th century. Pevsner dates the nave to that period as well as the chancel arch which is often the oldest part of any church. A significant change happened in the 14th century when the western tower, enriched with that carrstone, was either added or replaced the original, most of the windows of the church also date from this period being Decorated in style. Two Victorian restorations followed, in 1864 the entire eastern end wall was rebuilt whilst in 1877.
