Rise Together: J.J.'s Journey of Belonging at Randolph-Macon Academy

Graduate J.J. shares his experience adapting to life in the United States, including facing racism and feeling unsure of where he belonged. He reflects on the resilience it took to move forward through difficult moments. At Randolph-Macon Academy, J.J. found structure, mentorship, and a supportive community that helped him build confidence and leadership. R-MA became more than a school. It became a place where he felt valued and supported like family. Randolph-Macon Academy is a co-ed boarding and day school for grades 8–12 in Front Royal, Virginia, near Washington, D.C.
