The entire universe is the very form of God. This very form is love. Love is the very essence; Brahman is filled with love, and love naturally unites with love. But only by cultivating strong and steadfast love do you become worthy of attaining the non‑dual state. Love is for the sake of love itself, and not for anything else. Love is not a business of give-and-take. It is the one that we feel happy about giving. Everything is in the form of love. Love watches through our hearts, and not with the physical eye. Love doesn’t listen through the ears; it listens with patience. Love doesn’t talk with words. It talks through compassion. Therefore, compassion, mercy, and love are synonyms; they are not separate. Love has so many synonyms. Love originates from the heart. It cannot be obtained from anywhere else. Love is immortal, nectarine, blissful, and infinite. A heart filled with such love becomes infinitely vast. Just as rivers with various names and forms lose their identity when they merge into the sea, and they will have the taste and form of the sea, Love flows in many forms, enters the ocean of the heart, and thereby itself assumes the infinite nature of the heart. In this world, there is nothing that love cannot achieve. Everything can be accomplished through love. It is selfless love, which is attribute-less and lacks deceit, that binds God. Selfish and narrow-minded love binds itself only to the world. But today’s human being is unable to recognise this eternal truth of love. Instead, he/she binds love to worldly objects for petty and trivial reasons and thereby falls into many states of suffering. It is the responsibility of every human to know the nature of love. The one who knows the nature of love will not go down the wrong path. All the contexts regarding the use of the word ‘love’ in the world have got nothing to do with the true sense of the word ‘love’. We take the love between the child and the mother as ‘love’. It is not love at all. We consider the relationship between husband and wife to be ‘love’. It is not love. This exists merely with a bond of relationship. It has a beginning and an end. But eternal love neither has a beginning nor an end. Love existed before you were born, it exists after you are born, and it will continue to exist even after you die. Love is eternal across all three time periods (past, present, and future). The love between the mother and child has come in between. Prior to your birth, which child was loved by the mother? Which child loved the mother (before being born)? It is only after birth that a child starts loving their mother and vice versa. So, it is the attachment that has developed in between, and it is not love. Prior to the wedding, who is who’s husband and who is who’s wife? It is only after marriage, once their relationship is established, that love enters them. This love has a beginning and an end. You cannot call it love. Real Love is the eternal truth, ceaseless and unbroken, a stream of bliss that awakens and illumines the human being — that alone is the true love. All your thoughts should be full of that love. All the words that you utter should be full of love. The looks should be of love. This is Divine love. One who is a recipient of Divine Love would never suffer. Humans today succumb to praise and blame. Divine Love will not make you pride yourself, not make you feel desperate. People may scold, may accuse, may criticize you, make you happy, but you will not be affected. Many have praised it, many have condemned it, many have criticized it, and many have tried to experience joy through it — yet it is not affected. The Divine Love considers pleasure and pain, profit and loss, as equal. Such Love will face many obstacles. It is difficult to know God, but so simple to criticize. Humans today choose and follow the easy path, but they are not prepared to walk the difficult path of Truth.
