UP 6202 West — Huge String of Empty Well Cars at MP 762.4 | Sunset Route

Union Pacific 6202 leads a westbound intermodal past MP 762.4 on the Sunset Route in southwestern Arizona on September 29, 2026. A standout feature of this train is the unusually large number of empty well-car platforms mixed into the consist. Roughly half of the well positions appear to be empty, making the train look far different from a typical fully loaded double-stack movement. The head-end consist also includes UP 4223, an older EMD SD70M, adding some classic EMD character among Union Pacific’s newer road power. #UnionPacific #Intermodal #WellCars #SD70M #SunsetRoute #Railfanning #Arizona #SWAZRails
