Performance◼️Saeko Azuma This video has been produced to ensure that competitors and referees worldwide are fully acquainted with the correct forms of the representative Kata, “Chatanyara-Kusan-ku” and "Papuren," which are frequently performed at the 11th Shitoryu Karate-Do International Championship, to be held in Japan in 2026. For this upcoming championship, judging will be strictly based on the authentic and correct Kata as defined by the Shitokai. We will be strictly evaluating based on these original forms, rather than the altered versions containing excessive theatrical elements that deviate from the foundational theory of techniques such as Bunkai (application), a trend that has been frequently observed in recent tournaments. Further details, including in-depth explanations of the finer technical points, will be provided during the pre-championship seminar. We sincerely look forward to the participation of as many competitors and referees as possible.
