Oct 2026 - Communion - More Precious than Gold 5: God's Precious Promises - 2 Pt 1:3–4

More Precious Than Gold - The Preciousness of God's Promises 2 Peter 1:3–4 How much is a promise worth? That depends entirely on who makes it — and whether they can be trusted to keep it. In this final message from our Communion series, More Precious Than Gold, we turn to the words of the Apostle Peter, who reminds us that God has given His people exceedingly great and precious promises. Throughout this series, we have considered the preciousness of Christ, His blood, and the gift of faith. Now we turn to the wonderful promises God has made to those who belong to Him. Unlike human promises, which can be broken or forgotten, God's promises are certain and unchanging. They are precious because of the One who makes them, the blessings they hold out to us, and the Saviour through whom they are fulfilled. But what exactly has God promised His people? Why are these promises so precious? And how should they shape the way we live, particularly when life is difficult and the future seems uncertain? As we consider 2 Peter 1:3–4, we are reminded that the Christian's greatest riches are not found in the things of this world, but in all that God has promised us in Jesus Christ. Our prayer is that this message will encourage you to trust God's Word more deeply, rest in His faithfulness, and rejoice in the wonderful hope we have in Christ.
