"The Race Is Over (Already Home)”

The Race Is Over (Already Home) From Fear to Freedom | From Striving to Belonging What if the race you've been running your entire life was already over? For much of my life, I believed I had to earn what God had already given. I carried the weight of religious expectations, struggled to prove my worth, and lived as though the Father's love was something I had to achieve. But what if we were never outsiders? This song grew out of a conversation about David R. Hawkins' book Power vs. Force and the difference between living through fear, control, and striving or living from love, freedom, and inner peace. “No more pushing, no more force. The river finally found its course.” The New Covenant reveals something extraordinary: we don't have to struggle to become acceptable to the Father. Through Christ, we discover the belonging that has been ours all along. We are not running toward a distant home. We're already at the table. We're already home. And when we stop exhausting ourselves trying to earn love, we become free to give it away. We can listen without defending ourselves, forgive without keeping score, serve without seeking recognition, and make room for others at the same table. This isn't a call to stop growing, loving, or taking responsibility. It's an invitation to stop using spiritual performance as a measure of our worth. “The race is over, lay it down! We're not outsiders anymore! Love is the song in everything!” May this song remind anyone who has lived under the burden of religious fear that the Father's love is not a prize waiting at the finish line. Love is where the journey begins. Put down the load. You're already home. — David Schnabl Scripture reflections: Luke 15:11–32 | John 14:20 | John 17:21–23 | Ephesians 2:8–10 | Colossians 1:27 | Hebrews 4:9–11 #TheRaceIsOver #AlreadyHome #LoveIsGreaterThanFear #PowerVsForce #DavidHawkins #NewCovenant #ChristInUs #Grace #FreedomFromFear #ChristianMusic #Belonging
