"Film Village Na Water?" The Truth About Pa Dele Odule, Kunle Afolayan & Ibrahim Chatta’s "Rivalry"

"Film Village Na Water?!" 🤦‍♂️ Let’s stop letting toxic TikTok and Instagram comment sections twist the truth. In this video, we are doing a complete deep dive into the massive infrastructure boom happening in Nollywood and addressing the toxic outrage and unfair, reductive comparisons being made between veteran actor Pa Dele Odule’s new "Budo Asa" film village and Ibrahim Chatta’s 74-acre Africhatta. Is everyone just copying each other out of "jealousy" or "competition" as some fans claim? Absolutely not! We break down the real mathematics of global cinema (including Hollywood and Bollywood's 1,600-acre Ramoji Film City) to prove why Nigeria desperately needs MORE of these spaces. We also look into the unique differences between each setup: 👉 Ibrahim Chatta’s Africhatta: A deep, 74-acre raw historical and cultural archive. 👉 Kunle Afolayan’s KAP Film Village: A 64-acre luxury eco-tourism and streaming hub. 👉 Pa Dele Odule’s Budo Asa: An intentional, authentic cultural museum and rehearsal sanctuary. 👉 Bolanle Austen-Peters’ BAP Film Village: The silent giant sitting on a massive 10,000 acres in Epe! Most importantly, we call out the absolute audacity of downplaying Pa Dele Odule’s legacy. While many actors of his generation spent their disposable income funding massive polygamous households, this legend showed immense financial discipline to build a lasting legacy for the culture. They aren't competing—they are becoming the landlords of Nollywood! What do you think? Is the southwest becoming the new Hollywood of Nigeria? Drop your thoughts below!
