Living alone after 60 means just about everything in your life is up to you. Most of the time you handle it well. But what happens when you're sick and something at home needs to be fixed right away? Recently I was quite sick, and within a few days three things went wrong that couldn't wait. In this video I share how I got through that week and what surprised me once it was over. It changed the way I think about independence. If you're living alone after 60 and have ever wondered how long you can keep handling everything yourself, this one is for you. You'll also get one practical step to try this week, so the next time something goes wrong when you don't feel well, you aren't starting from scratch. I'm Val, a retired psychology professional. I started Second Half Sage for women navigating the changes that come with the second half of life: living alone, loneliness, retirement, and the feelings that don't always get talked about. If this sounds familiar, subscribe to Second Half Sage for more real talk about this stage of life. Tell me in the comments what one task you wish you didn't have to do entirely on your own.
