The Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray-led Shiv Sena has extended support to Raju Shetti’s sugarcane price agitation and appealed to people to observe a one-day shutdown in solidarity with farmers. Party leaders alleged that the government has ignored farmers protesting for three days. They said Shiv Sainiks would take to the streets if Shetti announces a shutdown. Farmers’ organisations are preparing for a possible western Maharashtra bandh tomorrow if no decision is reached by this evening.
