In this episode of Self Taught Engineer, Tim Frazer sits down with Maxwell (Max) Moon to explore his journey into engineering and the experiences that have shaped his career. At 16, Max Moon was touring as a drummer. A few years later he was in LA studios working with Lady Gaga and Juicy J for $12 an hour, transcribing audio on the side for extra cash. Today he’s a Senior Engineering Manager at Shield AI, previously working at AWS, Trust & Will, TuneIn and many more. We talk about the Friday night he taught himself Linux to get a radio stream running on his laptop, why he left for AWS after he couldn’t answer “why should I care?”, and Motif, the agent memory framework he builds on weekends. If you’ve ever been great at something that didn’t pay, this one’s for you. Guest: Maxwell Moon Follow Maxwell:https://www.linkedin.com/in/maxwelljmoon/
