Leaving Tokyo Skytree Town behind, and walking south-east towards Kinshicho. Between the two there is nothing a guidebook would send you to. Shutters already down, a vending machine humming on a corner, one car waiting at an empty crossing. This is most of Tokyo, most of the time. Somewhere in the middle there is dinner - a teishoku, a set meal, at a small family-run restaurant. Then a shopping street opens up and the tower is standing at the end of it. The last stretch climbs a staircase onto a raised walkway, where Kinshicho spreads out below with the Skytree small and blue in the distance, before coming back down into the neon and finishing at the station.
