Miles Between Us | Franziska Graz & Russell Snyder

Miles Between Us Music: Russell Snyder Lyrics: Franziska Graz ------ This song is a snapshot into the current socio political climate that is leading humanity down a dark path. Fuelled by rapid, uncontrolled changes in technology, humanity is at risk of losing something most precious: our open society. Where once we talked feely to our neighbours about a wide range of topics, now we fear differences from our opinion and sit at home in our digital echo chambers consuming and regurgitating questionable 'information'. But perhaps it is not too late! May this song be a wake up call to others to go outside and experience the real world. Try to see another human's point of view and treat them with love and kindness. There is still time to turn the ship around and it starts with us being open to each other. ------- This composition is not only inspired by the musical work of Miles Davis such as 'So What' and 'All Blues', but also his view on music's role in society. Miles faced racial violence during his lifetime and remained outspoken about the injustice the Black community face in the United States. While issues have changed and developed since Miles' life time, as musicians, the obligation still remains to use our artistic voice for positive change in society.
