Sista Sound Presents: Da Sistas "ROOTS, JAZZ, REGGAE" Designed especially for Bozcaada Jazz Festival, this opening act begins with a sound collage that brings music together with women’s memory and voice. The voices of Nawal El Saadawi, Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths, Judy Mowatt, Sister Nancy, Duygu Asena and women from different geographies rise over the “Bam Bam” riddim and flow into Da Sistas’ live performance. Born from the culture of solidarity and collective creation of Sista Sound, Türkiye’s first women-led music collective, Da Sistas brings a polyphonic space of freedom and a strong collective energy to the festival stage. With reggae at its core, the ensemble brings together the improvisational spirit of jazz with dub, drum & bass, funk, afrobeat and musical motifs drawn from different geographies. The repertoire is reshaped at every performance through spontaneous interaction and the individual musical voices of the musicians on stage. Nawal El Saadawi, Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths, Judy Mowatt, Sister Nancy, Duygu Asena ve farklı coğrafyalardan kadınların sesleri, “Bam Bam” riddim’i üzerinde yükselerek Da Sistas’ın canlı performansına dönüşüyor. Türkiye’nin kadın öncülüğündeki ilk müzik kolektifi Sista Sound’un dayanışma ve ortak üretim kültüründen doğan Da Sistas, festival sahnesine çok sesli bir özgürlük alanı ve güçlü bir kolektif enerji taşıyor. Reggae’yi merkezine alan ekip, cazın doğaçlama ruhunu dub, drum & bass, funk, afrobeat ve farklı coğrafyalardan gelen müzikal motiflerle buluşturuyor.
