Mulkirigala (Mul refers to first and Gala is known as rock) Raja Maha Vihara (meaning temple) is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Tangalle Sri Lanka. Tangalle is situated in the Southern Province of the Hambanthota District and is 195km from Colombo. The temple has been built on a natural rock that stands 205 meters high. The Rock Temple is encompassed by four more rocks namely Benagala (hollow rock), Bisogala (rock named after a woman), Kondagala (hair rock and Seelawathiegala (rock named after a queen).
