The Ghoul Stars: The Region The Imperium Gave Up On

In the 34th Millennium the Imperium sent twelve Space Marine Chapters into the Ghoul Stars. One came back. Then somebody with the authority to do it erased the archives of the war they had fought, and all that survives of a campaign costing eleven Chapters is a single slab of carved stone in the Imperial Palace. The Ghoul Stars sit in the far northeast of the galaxy, past the outer worlds of the Ultima Segmentum and almost entirely beyond the light of the Astronomican.
