Sometimes, the most important thing an A&E doctor can offer isn't medical treatment. It's a promise.
In this video, I share an experience from my years working in Emergency Medicine that has stayed with me ever since.
It's a story about grief, bereavement, and remembering the people we love. About the promises we make, the memories we carry, and the small things that can offer comfort after someone dies.
I also reflect on the idea of the 'second death' — the thought that we die once when our life ends, and again when our name is spoken for the very last time.
I've worked as an A&E doctor in London for fifteen years. On this channel, I share real medical stories, unusual cases, and reflections on the human side of medicine — the patients, families, and encounters that stay with us long after a shift has ended.
