Another wonderful innovation from Buffet, the new Prestige bass clarinet with a removable low C extension is making waves in the bass clarinet community. The player can choose to play the “low Eb version” (which actually extends to a D, thanks to the key on the bell) or play the “low C version.” As you can see in the video below, the extension is easily added or removed, as the player wishes. The bass also comes with a smaller, lighter case compared to the traditional 1193 low C Prestige.
