When the new C Concourse opens later this spring at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), not only will it raise the roof, literally, by adding four additional floors above the existing building, it will raise the bar on the airport experience and sustainability. Through thoughtful and innovative design, the C Concourse Expansion increases the existing 81,000 square foot building to 229,500 square feet that blends calm and connection with sustainability and regional identity, weaving in natural light, Pacific Northwest materials, and expansive views. Learn more about the C Concourse Expansion project In designing the C Concourse Expansion, architects Rich Whealan, Principal at The Miller Hull Partnership, and Billy Schreiber, Project Leader at Woods Bagot, looked beyond the traditional model of airports as enclosed, inward-looking spaces. Instead, they looked outside their door, drawing inspiration from public open spaces and natural landscapes in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The result is a design that brings the outside in — using vertical openness, daylight, iconic views, and natural, local materials — while setting a new standard for sustainability at SEA. “From the start, we set out to create a place that felt unmistakably Seattle — a space where travelers could feel the culture, the craft, and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest the moment they stepped inside,” Seattle–Tacoma International Airport[a] (IATA: SEA, ICAO: KSEA, FAA LID: SEA) is the primary international airport serving Seattle and its surrounding metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Washington. It is in the city of SeaTac, which was named after the airport's nickname Sea–Tac, approximately 14 miles (23 km) south of downtown Seattle and 18 miles (29 km) north-northeast of downtown Tacoma.[3] The airport is the busiest in the Pacific Northwest region of North America and is owned by the Port of Seattle. #2026 #airport #seatac #philadelphia #canada #edmonton #edmontonmarket #alberta #travel #rollercoaster #weekend #themepark#mall #amusementpark #arcade #travelvlog #galaxy #westedmontonmall #worldwaterpark #waterpark #waterslides #wavepool #adventure Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) SEA Airport is home to 31 airlines serving domestic and international destinations. The airport is just minutes from downtown Seattle and centralized. The C Concourse Expansion aims to elevate SEA, literally, by adding four additional floors above the existing building and raising the bar on the airport experience and sustainability.  Project Overview The project spans the C and D Concourses with additional dining and retail, sought-after amenities such as an Interfaith Prayer and Meditation Room and a Nursing Room, and an all-new, more than 41,000-square-foot Alaska Airlines Lounge. The heart of the space – Tree at C – is an iconic destination that invites travelers to linger with seating, airfield views, music and art, or head upstairs for more elbowroom and dining and retail options. The expansion also encompasses office space for airport businesses, airlines, and the TSA. The C Concourse Expansion rethinks the airport experience where design creates an intuitive journey, a sense of calm, and climate consciousness. This project increases the existing 81,000-square-foot building into a beautiful 229,500-square-foot facility with a wish-list of amenities. The building's design is inspired by the natural landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and the energy and vibrancy of Seattle. The Tree at C creates a central gathering space designed to reflect regional public and farmers markets. The main floor boasts the Marketplace at C, a main area for passengers to find everything they need. Dining and retail will frame this tiered, open amphitheater with a space for live music. Next, travelers are drawn to the upper level with restaurants above as well as views and the ability to look out over the entire facade. One of the most unique aspects of the C Concourse Expansion is its height and unobstructed views of the airfield and Olympic Mountains via a lookout deck, Lookout at C, encased in glass that will be available to all passengers.
