Replacing Lifters in an Evo 9 | 4G63 | Revised ITM 3Gs | Applicable to ALL DSMs | Evolution I-IX

In this video tutorial, I am replacing out the (still fairly new) GSC "No-tick" lifters for a set of ITM Revised 3G lifters. I purchased these lifters off MAPerformance and used the JTC 1302 lifter tool to help "aid" with the replacement process. We are working on my 2006 Mitsubishi Evolution IX. My car is actually a hybrid build. It features a fully built 4G64 bottom end, but retains the factory Evo 9 Mivec head. And this principle will apply to all 4G63 equipped cars, as well as hybrid builds like mine. As long as the head is 4G63 (doesn't matter if it's DSM or an Evo head) this process will be exactly the same. I decided to upload this video demonstrating the use of the official "lifter tool" versus all the other videos posted online using a flat head screwdriver to remove the rocker arms. The tool does help, to an extent, but it is extremely tricky to use. You must make sure the cam lobes are not in the way of the rocker, lifter, and valve spring set.
