What If You Shrunk to the Size of an Ant?
Lulu stood beside the flower bed, turning a shiny blue button in her hand.
It was round, smooth and small enough to disappear inside her fist.
She held it up beside the flowers.
“Imagine being tiny enough for this to look enormous.”
A breeze rustled through the garden.
Lulu blinked.
The button slipped from her fingers.
And suddenly, the flowers shot upwards.
Or rather, Lulu had shrunk.
She was now about the height of an ant.
The lawn was no longer a lawn.
It was a forest.
Grass blades rose like green towers. Lumps of soil became hills. Flower stems stretched high above her head.
Lulu looked around.
“Where did my button go?”
Somewhere ahead, hidden beyond the plants.
She set off.
Walking through the flower bed felt completely different now.
Petals hung above her like bright umbrellas.
Leaves curved into enormous green roofs.
A few steps at normal size had become a proper journey.
Then Lulu stopped.
On one broad leaf sat a drop of water.
Usually, she would have wiped it away with one finger.
Now it looked like a blue glass ball.
Lulu leaned closer.
The drop stayed rounded instead of spreading flat.
