It's Rainin' Diana Madaras Music

IT’S RAININ’ Written by Diana Madaras All my luck’s been bad luck, And now I’m feelin’ stuck, With a heavy-handed cowboy With a rifle in his truck. When I said I want no pressure, Laid your gun down on the floor. Then you told me to undress. I can’t bear your touch no more. CHORUS: It’s rainin’ on the back porch. It’s rainin’ in my eyes. It’s rainin’ cats and dogs and pigs. It’s rainin’ all the time. It is true I once did love you, Now my heart is black and blue. I have practiced in the mirror All the words I’ll say to you. I’d like to say I’m leavin’, For a place that’s dry and warm, I hope I can run faster Than this brewin’ thunderstorm. Cause thunder comes with lightin’ I’ll be runnin’ for my life. I’ve lived so scared and frightened, I don’t want to be your wife. CHORUS: It’s rainin’ on the back porch. It’s rainin’ in my eyes. It’s rainin’ cats and dogs and pigs. It’s rainin’ all the time. But I’m too afraid to tell you, ’Fraid of just what you might do. So I’ll sneak out in the darkness, In the rainy midnight dew. If I don’t leave this house tonight, I just might go insane. I want to find a little peace, A place where it don’t rain. BRIDGE: It’s been so long since I’ve felt well, I’m livin’ in a livin’ hell. I’m livin’ in a livin’ hell. Lord help me please Break this damn spell. CHORUS: It’s rainin’ on the back porch. It’s rainin’ in my eyes. It’s rainin’ cats and dogs and pigs. It’s rainin’ all the time. *“It’s Rainin’” — Diana Madaras Music* Sometimes the storm outside is nothing compared to the one happening behind closed doors. “It’s Rainin’” tells the story of a woman living in fear, finding the courage to leave, and searching for a place where the rain finally stops. It’s a song about survival, strength, and that terrifying moment when staying becomes harder than walking away. *Written by Diana Madaras* Diana Madaras is a Tucson-based artist whose bold, colorful work has celebrated the beauty and spirit of the Southwest for decades.
