The Hazard Snapshot Method is a fast, repeatable pre‑task habit that helps supervisors spot immediate hazards, confirm controls, and decide whether work can start. It turns routine visibility into a proactive risk‑reduction practice by focusing attention on what changed, who is exposed, and what immediate action will reduce the greatest risk. Core Steps Scan — Sweep the area for obvious hazards: people, tools, equipment, and the environment. Assess — Judge exposure and severity: who could be harmed and how likely it is to happen right now. Act — Fix, control, or stop: remove the hazard, apply a control, or pause work until it’s safe. Three Questions to Ask Every Time What changed since the last check? Who is exposed right now? What immediate control reduces the greatest risk?
