"Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.” The Book of Zechariah was recorded between 520 and 470 BC, 18 years after the first return from Babylonian exile, during the reign of Darius I. The author encourages the discouraged Israelites who had lost hope and faced reality, proclaiming the coming of the Messiah and the establishment of God's kingdom through the rebuilding of the temple. In this book, Jesus is portrayed as the "humble king riding on a donkey." As you read through the Book of Zechariah, which takes 11 minutes, may you experience God, who is the author of history.
