Harburg) Somewhere, over the rainbow, way up high There's a land that I heard of, once in a lullaby Somewhere, over the rainbow, skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true Someday I'll wish upon a star and Wake up where the clouds are far behind me Where troubles melt like lemon drops away Above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me Somewhere, over the rainbow, bluebirds fly Birds fly over the rainbow, why then, oh, why can't I? If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow Why, oh, why can't I? It is characterized by compulsive and uncontrolled consumption of alcohol despite its negative effects on the drinker's health, relationships, and social standing. Like other drug addictions, alcoholism is medically defined as a treatable disease. The term "alcoholism" is a widely used term first coined in 1849 by Magnus Huss, but in medicine the term was replaced by "alcohol abuse" and "alcohol dependence" in the 1980s DSM III.
