#16: Giant Trout At Lechalade after Lockdown

This was a supurb trip to Lechalade after our lockdown rules have changed for the third time. Driving up it started to snow, at swindon turning on the M4 and we arived at Lechalade at 7:30 AM to a thick blanket of snow ! Me and reg jad a boat booked so we started fishing infront of the house. Then we moved to the top end of the lake and then back down again. After 4 hours we never had a single bite. So after lunch we decided to meet up with a good friend , Richard Lindsey and do some stalking. Richard had already had already caught some stunning trout a brown 15lb on one of my twin eyed dark olive leech patterns and said he had lost a monster rainbow on the black leech super XL , His favourite. After a short walk to the 2 top bays we maniged to find the fish. There were some giant rainbows there and I managed to stalk 4 fish to 59LBs , they each weiged 13lb , 14lb , 14lb and a monster that pulled the scales down to 18.1LB. 3 fish were caught on a gold staking pattern and the other was caught on a new chartreuse coloured bug that I was testing. A brilliant dayin the end catching some real lechlade Lumps. I'm really glad we came off the boat and found the fish,it could have been a tough day.
