Amherst Male stabbed on Princeton

Amherst- Male stabbed Princeton and Windermere. Around 5:35 Amherst police were dispatched to a report of a male stabbed at Princeton and Windermere. Patrol arrived and found a male with stab wounds to both arms. They applied a tourniquet and requested Twin City to come hot. He was transported to ECMC. Where he is being treated for non life threatening injuries. The suspect(s) were last seen West on Princeton. APD along with assistance from the Town of Tonawanda PD and UB PD did set up a perimeter and requested a K-9. The New York State police K-9 responded and did a search along Princeton. While waiting for the K-9 APD was able to gather information on the suspect. They were located on Hawthorne Ave in the Town of Tonawanda. Both were detained. The female was later released at the scene and has not been charged. The male 37-year-old Roderick Pettway Jr. of Tonawanda has been charged with with felony assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held pending arraignment in Amherst town court. He is innocent until proven guilty.
