Today we officially reach a HUGE milestone in our journey from $0 to a MEGA FARM here in Eldred, Minnesota! After starting this series with practically nothing, we're finally beginning to build up some serious money as we take on more contracts around the local area. We start by finishing up our first-ever custom harvesting contract, wrapping up the final acres of a massive 72 acre Barley field with our John Deere 9760 STS. After delivering more than 7,000 bushels of Barley for the local farmer, we're able to keep all of the extra grain we harvested for ourselves. Once the final load is delivered back to our farm, we collect our contract reward of around $80,000 and add roughly 2,500 bushels of Barley to our own grain storage. With our first harvesting contract officially completed, we get our equipment cleaned up and head straight back to the contract board to find our next opportunity. We take on a 42 acre plowing contract, putting our John Deere 9620 and Landoll 2131 23 shank Coulter Chisel to work for the first time. After getting the field set up on Courseplay, we hire our first worker to continue handling the plowing job while we take on another contract at the same time. Our next job takes us to a 56 acre Corn field that needs to be sprayed with Herbicide. We bring out our John Deere 7810 and Bestway 1,200 gallon sprayer, along with our nurse trailer, and get the entire field treated. After completing the spraying contract, we collect another $37,660, pushing our bank account over an important milestone for the first time in the series. We started the episode with only around $7,500 in the bank, and by the end of the day we've grown our balance to more than $113,000! 💰 With our first major contracts completed, our first hired worker put to work, and more than $100,000 now sitting in the bank, this little farm is finally starting to gain some momentum.
