This build was personal, but I had to show it off before I retire this unit! What started as a stock 2013 Atomik Barbwire 17” RTR has become a fully upgraded, self-righting brushless beast. I've poured hours into this build, from the ceramic-coated hull to the active water cooling system and upgraded metal-geared steering servo. Every gasket sealed. Every screw greased. Every part dialled in meticulously. 🔧 Key Upgrades: • 17” hull, ceramic coated • Brand new hatch gasket + marine grease seals • 12g Metal-geared steering servo • Active cooling micro water pump • 35mm 1.4P aluminum CNC prop • Zeee 120C 3S 1300mAh 11.1v LiPo • Original 2.4GHz Waterproofed Receiver + Original 2.4GHz Transmitter • Original Water Cooled Brushless Outrunner motor + 30A Water Cooled Brushless ESC still putting in work This wasn’t about buying the latest boat. It was about bringing my vision for it to reality. This boat became a metaphor for my life... I had a vision. Something small, overlooked by most, but meaningful to me. I saw what it could become, even if no one else got it. Started with what I had: a stock RTR, stock parts, and passion. Every step forward came with a setback, lost parts, wrong fits, failed ideas. But I didn’t quit. Instead, I adapted. I reworked it, rethought it, rebuilt it again and again. And after all that, I finally hit that perfect run. Glassy water, full throttle, and it just worked. Not because I got lucky, but because I didn’t give up. People see an old boat and ask, ‘Why bother?’ I see potential and say, ‘Watch me.’ It’s not about how big, how fast, or how new. It’s about building something with your own hands and making it do what it was never meant to do. 📹 Chapters 0:00 Build Breakdown 9:01 Full Send in Perfect Conditions 10:47 Submarine (Lily Pad 1, Barbwire 0) 11:56 Choppy Water Bash 18:28 Mild Chop Tuning 32:40 Active cooling in Action 32:55 Thanks for Watching!
