Bone Plate Machining on a 4+1 Axis 30VT | Medical Precision Workflow In this machining demonstration, we show how an orthopedic bone plate can be manufactured using a continuous multi-position workflow on a 4+1 axis Micro Dynamics 30VT machine. Bone plates are high-value medical components used in fracture fixation. Because they may remain inside the body for long periods of time, dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and repeatability are critical. Even small deviations can affect how the implant sits against the bone, which can influence healing, comfort, and long-term reliability. This setup uses a three-position fixture designed for efficient production. Each position handles a different machining stage. After the first two buffer cycles, the workflow becomes continuous. At the end of each cycle, the operator moves each part forward through the fixture, removes the finished part from position 3, and loads a new blank into position 1. This allows all three machining stages to run simultaneously, reducing downtime and improving production efficiency while maintaining consistent part quality. In position 1, the machine performs primary roughing operations to form the basic shape of the bone plate. In position 2, the fourth axis allows the part to be indexed to different orientations, making it possible to machine multiple features without removing the workpiece from the fixture. In position 3, precision finishing passes are used to achieve the required tolerances, smooth surfaces, and accurate geometry needed for medical applications. Micro Dynamics machines are built for demanding manufacturing environments where stability, repeatability, and precision machining performance are essential. #BonePlateMachining #MedicalMachining #MicroDynamics ▪ Website » https://www.microdynamicsfa.com/ ▪ Email » sales@microdynamicsfa.com   / microdynamicsfa     / microdynamicsfa     / microdynamicsfa     / microdynamicsfa
