Covenant Oak (Official Lyric Video) – Tim Garthw8

"Covenant Oak" — official lyric video by Tim Garthw8, from the album "From Iowa to Glory." LYRICS: Tan brown on gray concrete Woodbury sidewalk in fall Seven points and a bristle at the end You held green all summer long You let go when the cold came callin' You were summer's breathing Now you're winter's proof Oh, you withered like Isaiah said An oak whose leaf fades But you witnessed like the tree at Mamre Where Abraham prayed Are you weeping like Allon-bacuth Or waiting to be healed? You fell from something stronger Than the wind could ever steal I read about a stone under branches Joshua laid it down For a covenant to remember In the holy ground And a prince with heavy hair Riding on a mule Caught in the thick boughs of a great oak Pride meeting something truer than you Oh, you withered like Isaiah said An oak whose leaf fades But you witnessed like the tree at Mamre Where angels stayed They used the oaks of Bashan for oars But they can't row away from grace You fell from something stronger That still knows your place Oaks of righteousness Planted by the water Leaf that does not wither In another world From the weeping oak at Bethel To the healing leaves unfurled Every fallen thing is held Every fallen thing is heard One leaf One stone One name One throne You withered like Isaiah said But Isaiah also saw The Lord will make you an oak of splendor Righteous and restored From Revelation's river Leaves for healing in your hands You were never just a sidewalk leaf You're part of the plan Tan brown on gray concrete But I see green again Under the covenant oak tree Where it all began Written by Timothy Garthwaite. © 2026 Timothy Garthw8.
