The gunfire has long fallen silent after a series of controversial police operations claimed the lives of several KwaZulu-Natal taxi owners. But for the families left behind, nearly twenty years after the fact, the impact is still keenly felt. Children grew up without fathers. Widows lost their partners and families lost their breadwinners. Grandparents became parents again. Now, the findings of the Nkabinde Inquiry have reignited hopes that justice may finally be within reach.
