Riftbound: Is It Actually Worth Opening Booster Boxes?

Is it actually worth opening a Riftbound booster box, or are you better off buying the cards you want? In this video, I break down the estimated booster box EV for Origins, Spiritforged, Unleashed, and Vendetta using current card prices and estimated pull rates. Rather than looking only at total set value, I calculated how much each tracked card contributes to a booster box based on its value and how difficult it is to pull. That gives us a modeled expected value for each set that we can compare directly against the current price of a booster box. The results: Origins: $275 Box | $179.44 Estimated EV | 65% Spiritforged: $200 Box | $157.95 Estimated EV | 79% Unleashed: $195 Box | $205.28 Estimated EV | 105% Vendetta: $175 Box | $144.81 Estimated EV | 83% Unleashed is the interesting one. Our model currently puts its expected card value above the price of the booster box, but a meaningful portion of that EV comes from Ultimate Baron Nashor, one of the hardest cards in Riftbound to pull. I also compare Riftbound with Pokémon and One Piece to show why EV relative to sealed price can change as a TCG set matures and sealed product develops value of its own. These numbers are estimates, not guaranteed box returns. Some Riftbound pull rates are officially published, while others are derived from available pull data and working assumptions.
